I would also like to talk about roads in national game parks. Most of these roads are impassable, yet there have been plans to ensure that we tarmack them. However, all we see is a policy statement and we do not allocate money towards this end. I have in mind roads leading to Amboseli National Park, Lake Nakuru National Park and the road to Tsavo National Park from Malindi. It is important that we ensure that we put money in this crucial sector, so that roads to national parks get tarmacked to enable tourists visit them. We should also ensure ...

Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I rise to support this Bill by my colleague here, who is the leader of The National Alliance (TNA) Party and a youth himself. However, as I rise to support I have very key issues to talk about.

First of all, I support it because it is one of the affirmative action we are taking to ensure that the youth get empowerment. We know some of us are here courtesy of the youth vote. So, as I support this, I want to be alive to the fact that the youth also need to be told that they will still have to compete. 30 per cent of Government procurement is a big opportunity for them. But no one should assume that just because this opportunity is there, you just sit down there and think that things will come for ...

So, as I sit down I really want to tell the youth of Kenya to seize this opportunity. This Parliament is key. We are very serious about availing opportunities. Yesterday we passed the Uwezo Fund Bill. Today we are giving them another opportunity to ensure that they get opportunities in procurement. They should liaise with their mentors and trainers to ensure that they take advantage of this opportunity. That way, we will all celebrate the advancement of the youth and the economy of this country. Thank you so much.

Thank you, hon. Speaker, for giving me this opportunity. It looks like hon. Wanga is staying in tandem. I get the feeling that when I was talking to an hon. Member over there, she was actually eavesdropping. First of all, we are celebrating that we now have a digital Government. All the talk out there is about the analogue to digital migration. There has been another buzz about a paperless society. If you look around everywhere, you see paper. This is a waste of public resources. Parliament needs to lead from the front in terms of saving money through incurring ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. Pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c), I wish to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committees on Lands, Labour and Social Welfare, regarding the state of Vasco Da Gama Pillar in Malindi. Hon. Speaker, the Vasco Da Gama Pillar was built by the great Portuguese Explorer, Vasco Da Gama in the 15th Century. It is a renowned local monument and attracts tourist to Malindi from across the world; having become synonymous with the town. However, there are fears that the pillar may fall off the cliff it was built on owing to massive ...

Thank you, hon. Speaker, Sir. While I appreciate that the two Chairpersons need to consult and come back to me, I think it just gives me a blanket response that we have to wait until next year, and I do not know exactly when. I think I have a problem with that. I need to be told exactly when I can expect some action on this. Thank you.
