  • 7 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: situation by putting in place proper rules for political parties. We need to streamline the rules governing political parties to conform with the Constitution, so that we can be proud of our parties. The USA has two parties. There are other small parties but the main parties are two. As a country, we may have to take that route. We should not take the route of killing democracy. We have to give chance to other people to form small political parties. With those remarks, I support the funding of political parties but there must be proper rules and regulations to ... view
  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wanted to speak to the Motion on declaration of youth unemployment as a national disaster, but I will certainly contribute to this one because these chances very rarely come by. I support the Motion by Hon. Janet on fistula. We know how people who suffer from fistula are treated. It is very important that the people suffering from fistula are treated in a specialised way. It is like suffering from a disease which makes people run away from you. We need specialised doctors who can deal with this matter. There should be certain ... view
  • 22 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: As you have seen, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, out of every 1,000 deliveries, four suffer this condition, which is a worrying scenario. I support the Member who has tabled this Motion. Victims of fistula are normally discriminated against. Most of them come from poor backgrounds and end up not getting proper medical care. I beg to support. view

  • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker and the Chair of the Departmental Committee on Finance and National Planning. • 20 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: on the stamp duty tax exemption which has been given. Many people in Kenya have never known what it is to own a house. This is a good move that we must all encourage. For example, most people in Nairobi inherit a house from the county government and think they own it. Their children later realise it was not their house when they are evicted. We should also support local manufacturers and highly tax imported goods especially furniture which is very weak and hardly lasts for a long time. view
  • 3 May 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. Whereas I share the same sentiments with my colleagues, there has been a partial lift of the ban on logging particularly for private citizens who own forests. If anything, a precedent has been set and so, we can as well do the same for Lamu Forest, which depends on the particular mangrove trees. I support the Petitioner. view
  • 27 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to oppose the Motion and support its amendment. view
  • 27 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: I get your point, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I rise to support the amendment because as it is, there are many issues that have been raised touching on this Motion. It has come out very clearly that the Report was not holistic enough and we have realised that we have had many issues touching on KNH. There are issues of shortage of nurses, doctors and the whole structure of a referral hospital which is touching on the entire nation so that those matters can be clear. We have to support these amendments, so that the board, which has been condemned wholly ... view
