  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thank all the hon.Members for supporting this Motion. I do not want to belabour the points that have been raised. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: There is a land that we want to live in. Whether the President is Mr. Omingo, Dr. Khalwale, Mr. Mututho or any other hon. Member, there is a land we want to live in where Cabinet Ministers will function efficiently. They will also work according to the responsibilities they are given. There is that land we want to go to, where Cabinet Ministers will be different from what we see today. Today, even when the President is shown on television with the Ministers he appointed, you will find that they do not even have laptops. It is a shame! They ... view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, definitely, I know that Mr. Omingo is computer literate. However, amongst them, when you say “mouse”, they do not think of a computer mouse. They think of a rat. It is a shame that in the 21st Century, we have incapacitated Ministers sitting in the Cabinet meetings as if we are in Mzee Jomo Kenyatta’s Cabinet. We need to move forward. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: It is my prayer that when we set up the implementation Committee, under Standing Order No.196, it will follow up and make sure that this Motion is implemented by the Government because time has come for us to move forward. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: With those few remarks, I beg to move. view
  • 3 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: ( Question put and agreed to) view

This reflects a failure on the part of the High Commission, the embassies that are serving us abroad. view
  • 2 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: It is not enough for the Minister to tell us that he is going to visit there. What we want to know, even for the children who are leaving this country right now, is there evidence that the ambassador gathers from these people? They are new and they do not know what is happening in that country; that he talks to the students and warns them of the dangers in the new country they are going to. view
  • 2 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, is there any evidence of that or are they just leaving our children to--- view
  • 2 Jun 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of Order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise under Standing Order No.25, which allows us to postpone, to some future occasion, further discussion of a Question that has already been proposed by the Chair. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move the following Motion:- THAT, the debate be now adjourned. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have been informed here, unfortunately rather late, by Mr. Jirongo that the spouse of one of the persons whose name is proposed for approval by the President is involved in very questionable deals within the Ministry of Defence. ... view
