  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: My first point is that the rules of the House do not allow anticipatory debates. That debate on the boundaries is not before the House. That Motion is not before the House. There is no debate on that. There is no decision of this House by a resolution of this House. How can we be returned back to make a decision on an anticipatory programme? view
  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: It is wrong, and it is not sustainable. When the IEBC came to make presentations, they made it very clear that these are the 1,450 wards. From here, we are making this kind of calculations. We tried to work within the provisions of what we were given. Some of us were very aggrieved, but we had to accept. Now people come and say it is only 60 and then they have not invited the rest of us. It is unfair. We believe this number 60 is divided between certain people to benefit and we will not accept that. view
  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 56 be amended in sub clause (3) by deleting paragraph (e). view
  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: The justification of this amendment is that we should not segregate against people who are, in fact, holding political party positions. view
  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, I beg to move:- THAT, Clause 136 be amended by inserting the following new sub clause immediately after sub clause (6)- (7) For the avoidance of any doubt, reference to a public officer under this section shall include officers serving in the system of administration previously known as the provincial administration view
  • 23 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, then I will withdraw that amendment. view
  • 22 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, thank you for giving me an opportunity to also make a contribution. view
  • 22 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: First of all, I want to congratulate the Minister because he is on the right track. Secondly, I do not agree with those people who are saying that we need constitutional Bills to extend our time. I believe with all my heart that if people were really that serious, this House would be full. view
  • 22 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: They are not here. They will not be here even to create quorum for that Constitutional Bill. So, let us get serious with the serious business that is before this House. I also believe that the big land owners have made a conspiracy to delay everything as much as possible, so that they can create loopholes in the law. They will try to dilute what happened as much as possible. view
  • 22 Feb 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I think all this hullaballoo about the Constitution should just be dropped. If people are serious, let us sit here and discuss these Bills. view
