Yesterday during the second reading, Mrs. Odhiambo-Mabona mentioned that we are segregating against politicians. The fact that someone has served as a Member of Parliament should not exclude him from being a member of the commission for ten years. We should not legislate laws against ourselves. So, we are adjusting it to one term. view

The justification for this proposal is that we want this particular amendment to make this Commission which is the human resource arm of the Government as far as the police is concerned, to take into consideration these issues.
