  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Co-operative Development and Marketing (Mr. Nyagah):- (a) why the new KCC has reduced the price of milk from Kshs24 per litre to Kshs20 per litre; view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of Order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. This Question is very important as many Kenyans are going without electricity as we speak now. Many factories have closed, including the Pan paper factory at Webuye, which was closed because of a debt of Kshs200 million. The office of the Minister for Energy is not far. Could I request that we defer this Question up to the end of the other Questions, and then he can be called to come here and answer the Question. view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I would like to thank the Minister for that answer and for showing his concern about the farmers. He has made it very clear that one of the reasons that led to farmers running into big losses is the people who have illegally imported milk to this country. What has the Minister done to deal with the people who imported milk illegally, thus causing the losses? view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, before the New KCC, we had KCC 2000 and before that we had KCC. KCC went under with over Kshs600 million which was farmers’ money. What we are witnessing in New KCC is the same trend, that it looks like it is not stable and that was my question. Could the Minister assure the farmers that New KCC will be stable and it will be there forever? view
  • 10 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. You have ordered that the Assistant Minister answers the Question on Tuesday afternoon. However, listening to him, it is like the Kenya Power and Lighting Company (KPLC) is independent from the Ministry. Now that the Ministry will face the wrath, could he--- view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. You have heard the Assistant Minister saying that they are trying to advise Maseno University. Is it the work of the Ministry to advise or order, because this is serious business? view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Public Health and Sanitation:- (a) whether he is aware that Kabiyet Health Centre which is situated at the District Headquarters has gone without electricity since October, 2009 and that the facility is understaffed and lacks essential drugs; and, (b) what he is doing to correct the serious anomalies and by when. view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, while I thank the Assistant Minister for giving us this answer, it would concern this House that the electricity was disconnected for four months. This facility serves the district headquarters. As I speak now, the facility has very few anti-malarial drugs, no single antibiotics, no pain killers and major drugs. He has confirmed that he has addressed the shortage. When will the facility receive these drugs? Could he be more specific? view
  • 9 Mar 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is unfortunate that Kabiyet Health Centre will have to wait for another one month to receive drugs, likewise to many health institutions in the country. This brings out the issue of efficiency. view
