  • 6 May 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I insist. I am quite in order. In addition to the newspaper cutting, whatever was said by the Senators, I heard what they said was on television. We saw them discuss it. On the issue of whether the matter was before the Senate, you did gazette this Special Sitting of the Senate today and indicated the matter to be handled. So, when the matter was discussed, it was in public knowledge that the Senate would discuss this matter. This matter has been debated outside by the distinguished Senators as I have already said. • 26 Mar 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I stand on behalf of the Committee on Energy. Sen. (Dr.) Khalwale had sought a Statement on the affairs at the Geothermal Development Corporation (GDC) and I am seeking the indulgence of the House. • 26 Mar 2014 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. I stand to support. This is a very well thought out schedule and just to echo the words of the Mover and the Seconder; that it is a step forward to reaffirm the independence of Parliament. Looking at the manner in which it has been drawn, it has given sufficient time for recesses. Not for the purposes of resting, but for the purposes of giving Committees adequate time to do their work and even to tour around the country to familiarize themselves with counties, so that as we exercise our role in this Chamber, ... view

  • 25 Mar 2014 in Senate: Mr. Speaker, Sir, today, I am standing in for the Chairperson. As you are aware, there is a change of committees. I want to confirm that this morning we dealt with the matter that concerns Sen. Billow in the Committee. Unfortunately, both the Permanent Secretary and the Cabinet Secretary are out of the country in the Philippines. We could not get a suitable answer for Sen. Billow. Therefore, I am seeking the indulgence of the House that the Committee be given time. We are seeking the intervention of the Ministry, even if the Cabinet Secretary and the Permanent Secretary are ... view
