11 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, with regard to Kazi Kwa Vijana programme, I would like the Kenya Roads Board (KRB) to know that the conduit for misusing public funds through bush clearing is evident. As I speak here, there is serious drought in my constituency. However, all the Ministry of Roads officers did was to use Kazi KwaVijana money in bush clearing, and yet there is no bush to clear. The other area on which they used money is in cleaning culverts. Even if they are cleaned, you will not know because they are under the ground. I emphasize that ...

6 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Thank you Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. As we have said in the past, that will be no problem at all because we have recruited and we are recruiting, in every instance, candidates based on districts. Therefore, we would be prepared to give such an undertaking that will give the numbers per district. This will be as soon as possible.

6 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I deny in the strongest terms possible that there is any discrimination against any Kenyan anywhere in this Republic. Perhaps the honorable Member would care to discuss with me the circumstances under which these people were disqualified. I will be very glad to get the reasons because there must be reasons why such candidates were disqualified. Thank you.

6 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I have already said that there will be no problem in producing the numbers recruited. However, I would like to come to the substance of the issue that has been raised by the hon. Member in relation to Ruaraka and other stations. We have already shared with the Departmental Committee on Defence and Foreign Affairs on the methods that we used in the recruitment. The analysis has been done so that when recruitment officers go to the field, they already know the number of candidates from each community that they would bring. What ...

6 Aug 2009 in National Assembly:
Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I said that it is a matter of communities or ethnic composition within the Republic and not necessarily district so that when they are recruiting in districts, we know who lives in each district. Therefore, the officers know the numbers allocated to that district based on the ethnic composition of that district in the country. I think this matter will be put to rest when the list that the chair has ordered to be produced is produced. I would like to ask for more time because the numbers recruited will be known when the reporting ...
