  • 29 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. At the outset Infotrak is a total mess because if you are to rank Members of Parliament, why would you rank specific Members of Parliament leaving out the nominated Members of Parliament who do not have a kitty. If you are ranking Members of Parliament based on the NG-CDF kitty, the job description of a Member is representation, oversight and legislation, which is done in this House. Our work station is this House, when you rank us depending on how you have used your NG-CDF, kwani wewe nicontractor? Are you on the ground doing contractual jobs? ... view

  • 22 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker for giving me the opportunity to contribute to this particular Motion. From the outset, I remind the House that we respected the nullification of the election although most of us did not agree with it while others were singing up and down that we should respect the courts. They are now the ones shouting the loudest that Maraga has erred and that we should not respect his decision. We should respect the courts. The Judiciary is an arm of Government. We are another arm of Government. The Executive is another arm of Government. Let ... view

  • 22 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, protect me from Hon. Members because they are shouting that I am nominated. Do not think that being nominated is very easy. I represent 6.5 million Kenyans. Some of you only represent 30,000 people. Do not shout up and down. I am specially elected. If anything, when we go back to the people, I still have my broken leg. I will table it and come back. If you are not sure that you will come back, do not start shouting up and down. I say this because sometimes it is us who fail. I had brought an amendment ... view
  • 22 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much Hon. Speaker. You are a mobile encyclopaedia when it comes to the law and the Constitution of this country. I have taken your advice very keenly. When I brought that amendment, I did not know why it died. I went to the Committee responsible and presented my case but they never came back to me to advise me on the same. Today, I have gotten that advice. Why are we always talking about one particular Article in our Constitution? Why should we allow one Article to have a massive impact on our governance system? Article 54 ... view
  • 22 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: With those very many remarks, probably in the next one week, we shall be former Members of Parliament and we shall go back to the people. • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. Governor Sang has done the right thing. As Hon. Atandi has said, we saw him on social media, print media and on television uprooting tea. I think it was out of frustration and pain because of land historical injustices that have affected his people. When your people are affected and are always at your door on their knees pleading with you to solve such issues, you can do things that may not be within the law, but what he has done today is within the law. view
  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: I remind the House that we have reports like the Akiwumi Report, where we have other historical land injustices. It is high time we demanded for the implementation of those Reports. The moment we implement the Report, we will not be having such petitions coming to the House because we would have solved an issue of historical land injustices. view
  • 15 Sep 2020 in National Assembly: Land is a very emotive issue. It is a very important factor of production in a country like ours, whose backbone is either agriculture or tourism. Most of our factors of production are all based on land. view
