  • 3 Aug 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Speaker. I just want to pick from where Hon. Junet has left. It is like people have left the country on its own. Anything goes on in this country. Anybody can walk from anywhere to this country, do anything and leave. The story of the Artur brothers come back to mind. This country has been through very many weird things in the last 10 years. There was a time we were told that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission servers were based somewhere in France and they were mixed with some documents. So, we could ... view
  • 3 Aug 2023 in National Assembly: An issue arose about Worldcoin in Indonesia. They lie to you about getting your consent and how much information they want to get from you. Three, they basically steal the consent. As it has been said today, a hungry person does not know what is happening in the world. His only interest is to get a packet of unga tomorrow. He is being told to put his eyes somewhere to be scanned and then he is given Ksh7,000. Where are our security agents, the NIS and the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI) before these kinds of things happen? Parliamentarians are ... view
  • 21 Jun 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I beg to report that the Committee of the whole House has considered the Finance Bill (National Assembly Bill No.14 of 2023) and approved the same with amendments. view
  • 14 Jun 2023 in National Assembly: I am the first to suffer the consequences of three minutes. Hon Speaker, I stand here to support the Finance Bill. The role of the Government is to ensure that the country is run in a manner that responds to the needs of the people. The needs of our people are diverse, many and can never be met within a year, two years or even in a lifetime. It is always important for any Government to ensure that it satisfies, at least, the bare minimum of the needs of its citizens. After we passed the budget, it is upon us ... view
  • 14 Jun 2023 in National Assembly: deserves our support to make this country a better place. I support and hope that all of us are able to do so, so that we can move this country forward. view
  • 20 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I thank the Committee for a very well-done report on the approval of Dr. David Oginde. Fighting corruption requires someone who believes that you can change a corrupt system. It requires someone who believes that fighting corruption needs leadership, someone with integrity and knows how the systems work. Dr. Oginde understands the process and appreciates what used to be done from what I have read about him in this report. He knows where this country is, in terms of corruption and what needs to be done as well as where the country ought to be ... view
  • 20 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: I want to tell him this afternoon that as we approve him because he is qualified for this job, let him know that we have had this Commission for so long and we keep lamenting every day that nothing is happening from that front. We want to ask him to ensure that our education system and cultural systems eradicate corruption in the country. Our biggest existential threat today, that is, what ails this country today is not tribalism or politicians, but corruption. It is a fight for the soul of the nation. We want to ask Dr. Oginde this afternoon ... view
  • 20 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, this country as at now, and I dare say, its leadership bar has gone very low. Anything and anybody can be associated with corruption in this country because EACC has refused to carry out its mandate of ensuring that those who come to this House, or those who become governors, Senators, or Members of the County Assemblies, meet the threshold of integrity. Corruption in this country is the norm. That if you are not corrupt then you are not normal. It cannot be that way. We hope that the body we are talking about today, if Dr. ... view
  • 20 Apr 2023 in National Assembly: Dr. Oginde is extremely qualified for this job and I ask this House to approve him for this position. I support. view
  • 21 Mar 2023 in National Assembly: Thank you so much, Hon. Speaker. This is one of the geniuses under the new Constitution, that monies go to the grassroots regardless of who is the President or who sits where. That is why the Division of Revenue Bill comes to this Floor every year. It is the means through which we ensure that counties are funded well. The Government of the day has said that they are going to ensure that the counties have resources regardless of where they belong to politically. I want to thank Hon. Ndindi for his comments that going forward, the National Assembly and ... view
