  • 17 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I understand that Nyakach Constituency has actually been upgraded now to a better living place. I wonder how this came about because we still do not have good roads, clean water for drinking, health facilities and many other amenities. How did you arrive at excluding certain constituencies and including others? view
  • 10 Nov 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, could the Assistant Minister tell us when the police are likely to conclude investigations in order for these people to be brought to book? view
  • 15 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, it is common knowledge that every year, these sugar factories normally ground for maintenance. That is why the Ministry agreed that some tonnage of sugar should be imported before the factories ground for maintenance. What happened to the 86,000 metric tonnes of sugar that ought to have been imported in the first quarter of this year? Secondly, 20 companies were shortlisted by the Kenya Sugar Board (KSB) to import sugar by 14th September, 2009. Could I be told whether that sugar has arrived in the country or not? If it has come in, is it from the ... view
  • 8 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Roads:- (a) to confirm the number of deaths that have occurred on the recently constructed Katito-Nyakwere Road; and, (b) when the Ministry will erect bumps at the market centres along that road to reduce the deaths occasioned by speeding motor vehicles. view
  • 8 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I thank the Assistant Minister for the answer which is quite relevant, except that the number of people who have lost their lives on this road has been under quoted. Last month, a matatu and a lorry collided on the same road and 12 people lost their lives on the spot. Despite all that, could the Assistant Minister tell this House when this will be done as a matter of urgency? view
  • 8 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not want to ask any further question because I think the Assistant Minister has satisfied me in his answer. view
  • 8 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I rise to seek for a Ministerial Statement from the Minister for Agriculture. First, could he clarify whether the current sugar shortage is real or artificial? Secondly, why is he allowing the importation of non-COMESA sugar into the country, duty-free, which is against the law? Thirdly, what would be the fate of the farmers, workers and their families within the sugar-belt, who are likely to be hurt by that free-for-all importation? view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to seek a Ministerial Statement from the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Finance on the state of affairs at Post Bank Ltd. The Minister should be able to explain to us the reason why the bank has not been able to prepare its books of accounts for the last three years and, if it has done so, what is the position of the balance sheet for those three years? When is it converting into view
  • 2 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. We are becoming repetitive and nearly all Members have spoken. view
  • 1 Sep 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, taking into account that this time round the Ministry of Finance did not allocate funds to his Ministry to do that market and bus stop, what is he going to do in order to get funds so as to complete that project that is still pending? view
