  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker. You have heard what the Vice-President has said here. Is there an hon. Member called Agwambo in this House? Is that a title for a Member of Parliament? view
  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me this chance to underscore what the Assistant Minister has said. However, there are loopholes which the Assistant Minister has not given us on the Floor of this House. The leaflets were circulated immediately after the upheaval in Mount Elgon District. The local Provincial Administration - the Sub-Chiefs, Chiefs, District Officers (DOs) and the District Commissioner (DC) - got this information. The District Criminal Investigations Officer (DCIO) of Kitale knew very well what was going to happen the next time. We depend very much on the National Security Intelligence Service on political grounds. ... view

  • 15 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister said that the culprits who were gunned down had uniforms. Could he tell us whether that uniform is Kenyan military uniform or from the neighbouring country? As the DC said, those uniforms were similar to the ones used by Uganda National Defence Force. view

  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, you have heard that the camels from North Eastern Province are dying from a mysterious disease. There are meat consumers from Eastleigh who get regular supply of camel meat. What preventive measures is the Ministry taking to ensure that people do not die of that mysterious disease the way they died of Rift Valley Fever. view
  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I support this Motion moved by Mr. Wamunyinyi. He has practically come up with a testimony which calls for professionalism. To avoid quacks in this field, we require regulation through licensing. When you look at some experiences, as Mr. Khamisi has said, they are diverse. I will pick on one or two things that Kenya has not experienced having travelled the world over. That is the trauma caused by crash-landing to the pilot in the cockpit or the passengers on board. If they have been admitted in hospitals, they are treated. But psychologically, those people ... view
  • 9 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I tend to stammer because I find myself thinking faster than I am talking. However, these people are very important and, therefore, we need to have a way forward. I thank Mr. Wamunyinyi for bringing this Motion. I encourage hon. Members to also look at this position and add some more issues on this Motion. Let it become a Bill and later become law. Let the institution establish licensing so that at the end of the day, we have people who can guard our people's spiritual life. We talk about the mind, body and soul. ... view
  • 3 May 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Minister tell us the time frame within which he will get rid of those vehicles he impounded from the junkyard to save the money that the taxpayer wasted to buy those vehicles? May 3, 2007 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1107 view
