  • 18 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to also commend the good work done by this Committee and also ask other committees that are involved in auditing money given to the public, to borrow a leaf from them, specifically the Senate, which has a bigger mandate of ensuring that money sent to the county governments is spent wisely. If I had powers, I would say all Senators should be attached to this Committee for a period of not less than six months. This is because we have seen a lot of money getting lost in the ... view
  • 18 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: lot of money which could be used to transform the lives of the Kenyan people by improving healthcare, a completely devolved function. Even as we commend this Committee, we also want to suggest improvement in future. There is no point in money being given to a particular entity, which spends it and then you come up with a report after two or three years. Once a particular entity is given money, before it is allocated more money in next financial year, there should be efforts to establish how the previous allocation had been spent. • 17 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity. At the outset, I support this Motion. It is very important because it is the responsibility of Government to ensure that its citizens have access to proper education, both basic and higher. As I have seen in other areas, the way you admit students for form one selection should not be done in the same manner cattle are stocked. I have seen the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology sending children to a school, stretching the facilities. I believe that the men and women in the Ministry are knowledgeable ... view
  • 17 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: increase the population of a school, if it is through form one selection, when you have plans to increase the facilities for these children. It is very important to note that we have some primary schools whose total number of pupils in that school surpasses the teacher-pupil ratio. It is important that the Ministry has a policy that will ensure that the facilities are going to be expanded, vis-a-vis the number of students and pupils that are being admitted to the schools. I have seen the Ministry allocating some schools Kshs50 million from infrastructural funds without rationale, that allocation of ... view
  • 8 Aug 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to support this very important Motion. We are fully aware that these people suffer and they take time to recover. So, setting up these trauma centres will assist them recover, collect themselves and move forward. It is also very important, while supporting this Motion, to note that we really need to be serious in terms of implementing whatever this House approves. That is the only way we can give Kenyans value and appreciate ourselves. Coming up with such a Motion and debating it requires a lot of thinking and research. ... view
