I rise pursuant to Standing Order 44(2)(c) to request for a Statement from the chairpersons of two Departmental Committees namely Finance, Planning and Trade and Environment and Natural Resources regarding the mining of gold in Kenya. There are two gold mines in the country namely Karebe Gold Mining Limited in Nyatike and Kilimapesa Gold Limited in Lolgorian. The amount of gold produced by those two companies is approximately 50 kilogrammes per year.   • 22 May 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, Sir, before I seek clarifications, I want this House to know that the issues that we are discussing about AMISOM and refugees are very critical. We have already 5,000 KDF officers who have reverted to AMISOM, and who are in the frontline. When the Deputy President asked for support from other African Union members, if you think that is not very important, then I am very sorry for you. We have half a million refugees in the Dadaab area and a total of 1 million refugees in this country. view
