  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: I will restrict myself to the names here, Hon. Speaker. For it to go on record, Mr. Tukero ole Kina is not from my constituency. I have touched on an issue that is very important. The position of a chairperson is one that is very sensitive. The man or woman who should have been given that position should have been one that we could not question or cannot question their integrity. This House--- view

  • 17 Jan 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for your protection. We have just passed one nominee in the name of Archbishop Wabukala. I did not hear anybody question his character and integrity. I did not and I support, for the record. I support the appointment of Archbishop Wabukala, but that is not why I have risen. We have communities that have lived in some areas for as long as they came into existence, only to be told that they are squatters. A classical example is Kedong Ranch where a community that has lived there for the last 100 years was told recently that the land has been sub-divided and people in Nairobi ... view
  • 25 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: When people are moved from certain parcels of land, leaders are called and told: “ Mheshimiwa, we are being moved from this place. Please help us.” We need to deal with this issue conclusively. In Kajiado County, for example, land fraud is the highest compared to any other crime. This is because we have fraudsters who have been milking innocent wananchi. You will find persons with two title deeds to the same parcel of land. view
  • 25 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Right now, I have an investor in my constituency who has bought a parcel of land. This is an investor who will employ about a thousand young people in a tile factory. After carrying out the transaction, the investor was told that that land belongs to someone else. view
  • 25 Aug 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, the issue of land needs to be solved. We need a proper guideline on the same. view
