Elizabeth won the Kasarani parliamentary seat in 2007, a constituency that was previously dominated by hardened male politicians. She also served as an assistant minister in the coalition government and was ODM party’s deputy Chairperson.

It will have to go through the three stages of First Reading, Second Reading and the Committee Stage during which we can make extensive comments. We have had this Committee Report for some time and really need to dispose of it. I have looked at the recommendations contained on pages 36 and 37. In my opinion, all the seven recommendations point to the introduction of the proposed Bill and they do not affect counties. The Bill will be a matter affecting counties, but the recommendations contained here do not affect counties. Therefore, I will move to put the Question.
