  • 16 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I rise to support this Motion. First, I must thank you for giving me this chance to air my views on this Motion. This country has suffered and continues to suffer because of lack of proper identification. You will recall that it was only the other day when this country fell into the hands of terrorists. If we were in a position to identify the terrorists earlier, I am sure we could not have faced the problems that we faced. Having a system that will unify all the Kenyan identification documents right from birth ... view
  • 16 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Education registration and we will have a big problem in all the registration centres. We need to unify this system and make it more practical, so that we can lessen the problems that we cause to ourselves. With those few remarks, I support this Motion. I urge the Mover to bring a Bill, so that the provisions of the Motion can be implemented as soon as possible. view
  • 2 Oct 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, it was only last week when I rose on behalf of the Chair and assured the Member that we are going to furnish him with the report on how prepared the Ministry is on the issue of laptops. We are anticipating the report this week. We met the Cabinet Secretary last week and he assured us that he is going to give us the report this week. So, I beg the Member to wait patiently as we get this report. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this ... view

The microfinance sector in this country plays a very major role in boosting the economy of our youth in our villages. In fact, they call it the poor man’s bank. All women and young people can access banking facilities. We have these banks and they have taken many years to reach the ordinary mwananchi in the village. So, when we strengthen these facilities, we are indeed, strengthening the youth and women. By doing so, we are boosting the economy of these people. Any ordinary person in the village ... view
  • 17 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: I know the services of big banks in many areas are not accessible to many people. If we encourage these institutions, we will boost the economy of these people. view
  • 17 Sep 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I support this Bill and urge all Members to support it. view
  • 31 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I stand to support this Motion. First, the youth of this country are the major contributors of the vote of hon. Members. I am sure that all of us have come here through the assistance of the youth. I would like us to address this matter seriously because a good number of youth, particularly when they leave primary school or secondary school, there are so many dropouts. So wherever you go to every village, you will see a large number of such youth. I remember when I go to my constituency, Belgut, for example and ... view
  • 23 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Deputy Speaker. I think the hon. Members are out of the way. What we are supposed to be doing right now is discussing the question of reduction of the publication period of the Bills, and not their contents. Thank you. view
