  • 8 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the Act had provided for five years, but we have requested the Attorney-General to reduce the period to two years. So, we hope that view

  • 3 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Indeed, it is a shame that we have only been able to come up with the NLP after over 40 years of Independence. Yet, every five or six years, we have a conflict. • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I also wish to support the Minister of State for Special Programmes. We know the mandate of any Government is provision of food, security and shelter. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: We know that this Ministry has been working since 2008 under very difficult circumstances. I must congratulate the Minister and her able team for having done a very commendable job. However, I must say that if we have to feed the Kenyan population and feed them well, the Budget that she has is not adequate. She needs to be much more aggressive in getting more money. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I would wish to urge the Minister to also create awareness that man shall not live on ugali alone. This has been a big issue in Kenya. We have heard that we should have eight billion bags in our stores and yet we have only two billion bags which are not adequate. We must teach Kenyans that we can also have alternative food as opposed to maize. If maize is not available, let us look for alternative food. view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: I would also want to request the Minister to have a section of disaster awareness and preparedness. This is because every time there is drought or floods, we all seem to be taken by surprise that this is happening. Can we have a sector that pinpoints when this is going to happen so that we can be prepared and do what needs to be done before disaster strikes? view
  • 26 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I do not wish to say more, I beg to support. view
  • 20 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to reply. view
  • 20 Aug 2009 in National Assembly: (a) The Women of Kenya Initiative (WOKI) is not an NGO but is a registered as self-help group project in each of the respective districts where it is operating. view
