  • 21 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, we have no problem with tabling the details of how the money has been allocated. I would also like to invite the hon. Member to our Ministry Headquarters. We have been doing a lot for the districts but sometimes hon. Members may not be well aware of our activities. We have been doing a lot and it is important for hon. Members to be visiting our Ministry, so that we can give individual hon. Members breakdowns of what we are doing in their areas, so that they can also try to help us with following up ... view

  • 20 Dec 2011 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I happen to have worked at the Income Tax Department. I am clear that Cap.470 defines the work of the Income Tax collector and it is only the Commissioner. Cap.476 defines the collection of the Value Added Tax (VAT). Out of the three legal collectors of tax, Mr. Matemu was none of them. Is it in order for the Member to continue misleading this House that the Kshs2.4 billion was not collected by Mr. Matemu while he was not a Commissioner in charge of collecting tax? view
