  • 23 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: whereby a town like Nanyuki is merely 50 to 60 kilometres from my constituency, but for you to access it, you have to travel to Nyeri and then go all the way to Chaka, Naro Moru and then Nanyuki - about 150 kilometres. It is high time the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure tried to understand the situation and gave the required priority to roads. Therefore, I will give the status report on the progress of work in the Departmental Committee on Lands. On Bills, first, we had the Community Land Bill which we prepared the report and was tabled on 14th October 2015. We had the Physical Planning Bill and Land Laws (Amendment) Bill on which all the reports were tabled in this House on 14th October, 2015. This Bill seeks to amend the Land Registration Act, the Land Act and the National Land Commission Act. There are a few speakers who have talked about mutilation of the Bill.   • 30 Mar 2016 in National Assembly: During our Committee meeting yesterday, we interrogated some titles in the Coast region and we had a lot of difficulties dealing with the NLC. You will find a letter of allotment that was allocated to a private citizen and the whole process such as the survey and the issuance of titles was done by the NLC. We did not want to give all the powers to the NLC in such a way that there are no controls, no oversight and everything is being done by one entity.
