  • 24 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. In view of what is clearly an acrimonious situation - we are bringing party politics into the House - I wonder if I would be in order to consider Standing Order No. 57 and seek leave of this House to withdraw this Motion in order to facilitate further consultations. view
  • 24 Feb 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order. I do not seek to challenge your ruling but I need to make two clarifications. I did not stand under Standing Order No. 51 and I never referred to it as the Hansard will bear me out. The second thing is that your interpretation seems to suggest that under section 57 I am estopped from seeking leave to withdraw a Motion. view

I would like to know whether he has a timeframe by which this process will be completed and when we can expect the squatters to be legally settled. view
  • 10 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, mine is not a question, but rather to give my gratitude to the Ministry for acting in accordance with our wishes. Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir. view
  • 10 Dec 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I beg to move the following Procedural Motion:- THAT, notwithstanding the provisions of Standing Order 20(2), this House resolves that the adjournment time of today’s Sitting be extended from 6.30 p.m. until the business appearing on the Order paper is concluded. view

Indeed, if it is true that having been determined in this House that, that happened, I was party to it and I even asked the Speaker under which particular Standing Order it was being raised. I was referred to Standing Order No.1. If, indeed, it is true that subsequent discussions took place and, therefore, that was vacated, it is necessary, if we were to keep within the procedures of this House, that the vacating of that decision be ... view
