Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity. I would like to ride on the question. The issue of fire outbreak is so rampant all over. With regard to what Sen. Kwamboka has said, it is important to also investigate what happens to children and people with disability in the slums in the event of fire. There are some who are not mobile. What has the Government put in place to ensure that they are safe? The issue of fire is also rampant in schools. Remember there was fire at Moi Girls, Nairobi High School. What measures has ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity. I would also like to ride on the statement asked by Sen. Mugo. I would like an investigation to be done so as to find out the number of People with Disabilities (PWDs) who have been recruited join KDF. The PWDs who are not mobile can be recruited to do different jobs such as desk jobs. However, we also have those who are mobile. How many mobile PWDs have been recruited to join KDF in the ongoing recruitment exercise? I would also like to know what is being done to ensure that ...

Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity you have given me. I would like to just emphasise that it is important for the Senate Majority Leader to realise that issues of disability are issues of great concern. Most of the time, persons with disabilities (PWDs) are ignored and when this happens, the cyclic nature of poverty will continue with their lineage. We are in an age where we are talking about mainstreaming of PWDs and you can imagine between 10 to 15 per cent of the population being mainstreamed. The issue of poverty will still continue in the lives ...

Mr. Speaker, Sir, thank you for the opportunity to also add my voice on this statement. First, I thank the Senate Majority Leader for the effort he has made to issue a statement. From the statement, there are begging issues that come out. There is need to interrogate them further. First of all, from the statement, only four counties submitted their reports. There is need to investigate why only four out of the 47 counties did so. What is it that is making them lag behind when it comes to issues of disability? So, governors also need to be accountable ...
