  • 10 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to also contribute to this very important Motion. First, I would like to congratulate the Minister and her very able team for articulating the youth affairs and problems in the country. Members are not raising many issues because they believe and know that the team is very efficient and able. It is a team that has made Kenya proud. This is the direction Kenya should go. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to point out a few problems here and there, particularly in my own constituency. One ... view

  • 3 Oct 2007 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I do not know whether I will be repeating, but I will not take more than ten minutes because I just want to highlight one or two things which I feel are of interest to me and this country. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the issue of obesity is one of concern to our health today. This is because Kenyans are eating a lot of food that has got hormones for example chicken in town. You will notice that a lot of children are eating this chicken and other foodstuffs which grow so ... view
  • 11 Sep 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Chairman, Sir, those are very good questions, which need clarification for the benefit of the House. First, Ms. Ndung'u talked about the operationalisation of the Refugees Act. Indeed, we had a problem in making it fully operational, although the operationalisation is going on, because of certain amendments that we have to bring to the House, one of which, I think, was done in this House. It was the issue of allowing, for example, people to come to Kenya without passes. For instance, it allowed people to be here for a month before they can be asked to ... view

  • 29 Aug 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I wish I had my full time. But because of your ruling, let me make my contribution very quickly. First, I would like to inform Mr. Syongo that the Kenya Institute of Diplomacy (KID) is at Kabete, and it is running. I also want to congratulate this Ministry as I support this Motion. This is one Ministry that is very important to our country. I congratulate the Ministry because of looking at issues affecting Kenyans in the diaspora. They have taken new blood into the Ministry. We now have many new Kenyan employees working for ... view
