  • 28 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to make a personal statement. Pursuant to Standing Order No.84, I wish to make a personal statement with regard to my alleged dismissal from Amani National Congress (ANC). I wish to set the record straight and put issues surrounding this matter to rest. I received a letter dated 20th March 2019 purporting to expel me from ANC party. Additionally, the Office of the Registrar of political Parties was directed to initiate the process of invalidating my position as a Nominated Member of Parliament. The resultant misinformation has been used to discredit me and bring ... view
  • 28 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: as the Secretary General was null and void, as it was a contravention of the law and the constitution of the party. These persons have since filed an appeal at the High Court, of which the court is yet to make a ruling. The failed attempt of my removal from the party triggered a series of sustained malicious acts of blackmail, intimidation and cajoling directed at my person, and my supporters. I believe that the real reason behind all these intrigues disguised as “party discipline” is motivated by those forces against divergent opinion, my belief in democratic tenets, rule of ... view
  • 19 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, is it in order for this Hon. Member, Hon. Kositany, to refer to this side as the handshake side when we know that in our Standing Order, we do not have a word called “the handshake”? view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. At the outset, let me say that I oppose this Motion. The NG-CDF is a very important institution in this country. As hon. Members have said, the work of the NG-CDF is more visible than that of the county governments. Things are happening in our various constituencies, view

  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: courtesy of the NG-CDF. For that matter, it is important that the membership of the NG-CDF Board is representative of the entire country. The issue of regional and ethnic balance should not be taken for granted. As said by various hon. Members, including my colleague from Funyula, some parts of this country have not been considered in these appointments. Apart from the seven Members appointed by the CS, we have four other members – the PS in charge of finance, and the Attorney-General, who we know are from Central Kenya; the PS in charge of Economic Policy and Planning; and ... view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, please protect me from all those interruptions. view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, the point I was raising is about the seven names appointed by the CS. However, we have other members who sit on the board representing the Government. We know the PS for Education is from the Rift Valley, the PS of the National Treasury and planning is from Central and also, the Attorney- General is from Central. What happened to the other regions? We are seeing a trend where the appointments are gradually leaving out some parts of this country, especially Western Region, where I come from. We are wondering whether we are Kenyans to also ... view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: I think this is a very good Report, but there is one major omission. It does not contain signatures endorsing it. I have looked at the minutes and introductory pages; there are no signatures in this Report. So, my question is: Is this Report authentic to be considered by this House? view
  • 13 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: We have an established quality assurance in this House for report writing. One of it is that a report must be endorsed by Members of that Committee. view
