  • 19 Oct 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I take this opportunity to welcome the visiting school. As a Senator living with a disability, I am so happy. I have been wondering when I would see students living with disabilities visiting the Senate, but the day has come. I am happy and humbled. I join my fellow Senators in welcoming them. I know the hardships they undergo as they pursue their education. We would like to give them moral support as leaders in the political wing, to ensure that they get quality education and compete for both appointive and elective positions. Thank you, Mr. ... view
  • 19 Oct 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity. I want to support the Adjournment Motion because it is going to create time for us to do our oversight role even though we have challenges in terms of finances that can help us reach out to the people we represent. • 7 Sep 2016 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, Sir, for the opportunity. I want to oppose this Motion. I do not oppose the list of the Hon. Members here, but I am of the opinion that we use the plenary way so that we all get an opportunity to discuss the issues. If the allegations will be proven to be true, then I want to say that it is so unfortunate that this country is being taken to the dogs simply because--- The electronic version of the Senate Hansard Report is for information purposes only. • 24 Aug 2016 in Senate: Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, I join my colleagues in supporting the Motion on the alteration of the Senate Calendar. As we proceed on recess, I would like to pass the message that the Bill on the one-third gender rule is for either gender. A time will come when more women will be elected and this Bill will support more men to be in Parliament. We need God’s intervention to deal with the issue of corruption in this country. This is because it is the common mwananchi who is suffering in the process. It is the high time that everybody goes ... view

  • 5 Aug 2016 in Senate: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I do not know if it is only me who has a problem with the document. The font of the schedule of disbursement is very tiny. I request that I get a document that we can read. view
  • 5 Aug 2016 in Senate: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you for giving me the opportunity. I support this Motion because I, as a Senator representing Persons with Disabilities (PWDs), it touches on matters disability. As I support, I remind county governments that we are now coming to the end of the Eleventh Parliament but nothing tangible is coming out of county governments in terms of programmes for PWDs. I may be required to seek legal advice on discrimination among PWDs in budget allocation. As we sit here and discuss issues of allocation of money to counties, it is not coming out clearly how devolution ... view
