I noted with concern that even in the list of Members nominated to the Senate Business Committee there is not a single representative of the special interest groups, otherwise popularly known as ‘nominated.’ Much as they may be entrenched in the Standing Orders, when we come to this House, we legislate as a House. • 14 Sep 2017 in Senate: Thank you, Mr. Speaker, I think the new Senators will also have to learn the tricks of speaking quickly in this Parliament as being part of it. I give my support for the Adjournment Motion. I support this Adjournment Motion. We seek to adjourn so that we can familiarize ourselves with the Standing Orders and how the Senate conducts its affairs. I believe that it would be an insightful moment.
