  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: What would be your motivation? It is like you do not like an organised system. You do not want political parties to be strong. You are questioning them, but you are not giving them money. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: The reason why a small party like the Grand National Union (GNU) has not prospered is because--- In fact, the owner even said the other day that he had dissolved it to join Jubilee. The party cannot even pay for its offices as per the requirement of the law. The GNU is not in my village and it is not even in Nairobi. So, Hon. Kiunjuri had no otherwise but to dissolve it because the “Government of Duale” has refused to fund political parties. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Duale--- view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I am concluding. To respond to you, the new Constitution requires this House, led by you, to be the other arm of Government. But Hon. Duale takes a section of this Parliament to be in Government. So, they have to answer because that is what they have been doing. He said that he is the head of government and the representative of the Government in the House and we have to take him on, blame him, congratulate him and tell him when he is saying things on behalf of the Government. view

  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I stand guided. I hope I was not being offensive but the question of where the Auditor General’s reports reside is in the Standing Orders. You must understand me. The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposesonly. A certified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Whenever Hon. Duale brings something like this, he is up to something. I have a responsibility and let me explain. view
  • 21 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I was just finishing. Hon. Duale, relax. I would like an ODM without corruption. I would like an accountable ODM. At least, your party is not even appearing in the chart for attempting. All I want to say is that it is good that the Hon. Leader of the Majority Party is saying that when he stands here, he is up to something for the betterment of this country. The same Hon. Leader of the Majority Party last week told us that he does not like special committees which he is now calling for. When I tried to ... view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, I thank you for giving me an opportunity just to say one or two things. You have allowed us to ventilate on this issue. We allocate these monies that are being misappropriated. This House has every duty and responsibility to monitor the use of public funds. That is the purpose of this House. On Sunday, I visited Pokot with Hon. Samuel Moroto. I went down 80 kilometres in the mountains using a road that has been done by the Governor of that area. The people down there were very happy. They would not be very happy to know ... view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: gives Kshs39 million. I know even their Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) was not worth that money when we began. So, why are we not using that money where we have sent it? It is good that we canvass these issues. The issues come up because what we sit back and watch happening is unfair. We are misusing our money to the extent that CoG, for whatever reason, has paid a team of lawyers Kshs280 million in three years. That is more than a quarter billion shillings. Sometimes, it is amazing how our country trivialises money. Before we get to the ... view
