• 9 Jul 2013 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I rise to oppose this Motion. The issue of Goldenberg did not start yesterday. The people we are mentioning, for example, Pattni, were not born yesterday. Those guys have been there since then. Moreover, judgements have been delivered. Before the Jubilee Government, there was the Grand Coalition Government. The Motion they are bringing now was supposed to be dealt with by the last Government. I have realized that issues that were so difficult in the past Government were deferred waiting for the Jubilee Government. view

• 7 May 2013 in National Assembly: I rise to support this Motion because it has come at the right time. Allow me to quote the assertions of a philosopher called “Thomas Hobbes” in his theory of “Social Contract”. He states that the role of a government is to protect life and property. If the government fails to protect life and property of its citizens, the citizens go back to “a State of Nature”. When their lives and properties are threatened, they find their own way of protecting themselves. That is the observations we have made from these pastoralist areas. view
• 7 May 2013 in National Assembly: Insecurity in Turkana County is no longer an internal issue but an international one. I support the hon. Member from Turkana West that it is not only in Sudan--- I want to affirm in this House that several attacks have happened in my constituency and those who participate in those attacks are Ugandan citizens. That incident was confirmed by the area Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD). This is because one of those militias who were killed wore a T-shirt that was written “Vote for Museveni”. However, I want to affirm to this House that I have lost 20 registered voters within three weeks. How many will I lose in five years? Those registered voters even voted for the President. If we were to go into an election now, you will not have them. This is a serious issue. There is no joy for me to be in this House when I keep on losing the people I represent. view
