  • 27 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to be very brief because I know time is not on our side. This Amendment Bill proposes to involve the National Assembly in the removal of governors from office, which removal is, of course, clearly outlined under the relevant sections of the Constitution. Article 6(2) provides specifically that the national Government and county governments are supposed to be distinct; the operating word here is “distinct,” even if they are supposed to be interdependent. • 20 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, this Statement request is directed to the Chairman of the Justice and Legal Affairs Committee. It concerns the delay in settlement of compensation awarded to victims of torture and political persecution. Specifically, I want to know when the Government intends to settle those claims once and for all. view
  • 20 Aug 2014 in National Assembly: Thank you, hon. Speaker. view
