  • 22 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. It is very clear as we speak right now that we have victims who need justice in this country. While in pursuit of justice, we must not politicise the process. We know that in 2007/2008, Kenyans killed one another. As we speak, Kenyans are killing themselves. I am saying this because I am a very sad person today. I am mourning. On Wednesday, view
  • 7 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the action of transferring a thief to another school means that he will still go and steal from there. What specific disciplinary action is the Minister taking on this teacher and the Board of Governors? view
  • 1 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, that road was completed just the other day and I know there is something called defects liability period, which I believe is not over yet. I just want to find out from the Assistant Minister whether he can consider talking to the contractor and ask him to restore the play field to its original place. That way, the school will stop suffering. It will be part of the contract that they have. He could also look at the lease agreement between the two parties with a view to talking to the contractor so that, that problem ... view
  • 1 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. Last week, the Prime Minister talked about the issue of drugs or narcotics in this House. He was asked to give the names of those barons but he said that he did not have the names. Today, when he was being asked a question by Mr. Yakub, he confirmed that it is possible that there is a relationship between drugs and piracy. While we know that there is a relationship between piracy and drug trafficking, the Police Commissioner has a while ago, publicly received the names of those prominent Kenyans who ... view
  • 1 Dec 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. The Constitution which we just passed the other day is very clear on this; that, every citizen has the right of access to information held by the State. As we speak right now, the Police Commissioner has received those names and, therefore, the State has the names. The Standing Orders are very clear here that a Minister must answer any Question that is asked by any hon. Member. What we are asking is for the Prime Minister to just name those individuals. There is no big deal about it! view
  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister confirms that funds are available. It is also clear that land is available because there is a lot of land in Kenya and we have so many willing sellers. He says they have money to buy land to settle these people. He also says the land is available, but they cannot finish this transaction. Why so? Why is it that there is some dilly-dallying in this transaction? Is it because of political reasons? view
  • 25 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I appreciate what the Assistant Minister has said because he is able. However, the Government has all the machinery which includes access to search at the Ministry of Lands. How come that the Government cannot establish land that is owned genuinely by individuals so that they can sell it to the Government? view

  • 17 Nov 2010 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Mr. Speaker, Sir. I rise on a point of order because it looks like we are making this House a theatre of absurdity! view
