  • 22 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: All these Members can bear me witness that every time we are invited to harambees to raise funds for medical cases. We have gone to that hospital many times to request the management to release bodies of people who died long time ago, but their relatives were unable to pay the medical fees. It has been said that getting sick in this country today is the most unfortunate thing. You will just die because hospitals and doctors are expensive. For us, we just give out a card and sometimes we do not even bother to check how much that small ... view
  • 15 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I may not have a lot to say. I just want to thank Members of the Committee for a job well done as I support what has been said by many Members on strengthening the Senate. We realise that there has been a lot of money going to the ground. I know that at some stage, there were supposed to be county service boards. I do not know what happened to them because the money that is not being put to use is the money that goes to county governments. Much of the allocation ... view

  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. You have caught me unawares because Hon. Sankok was having a very important discussion with me. view
  • 14 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Deputy Speaker, I do not know whether I am to second or not. I would like to wish Hon. Members a happy Valentine’s Day. As you can see, I am dressed in red because I recognise this day as one in which we are supposed to be friends, mend fences and work as a team. We were all elected by our people to come here to represent them and when we fight in this House we seem not to honour the electorate who put us in office. view

  • 8 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you very much Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. I have served in this House for two terms. I have been out of Parliament for 10 years and I know how difficult it has been. When I left Parliament, I immediately lodged a petition. Whatever little I had got diminished very fast. From there, I know what happens. I may not know the persons individually, but there is a job to be done. It is expected that having come from Parliament, they will do a good job. Like Hon. ... view
  • 8 Nov 2017 in National Assembly: Governor number one because I was born in Nyeri”. He said he has heard I come from Nyeri. We interacted. From the many good things that have been said about him, we know the pain of the people of Nyeri, having lost their former governor at the tail end of his first term and now in the very first months of the other’s first term. I wish Dr. Gakuru’s family comfort and God’s blessings. I wish them comfort when there is a young man doing his Kenya Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) exams. Let us all pray for the family ... view
  • 11 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance to support the Motion on the sugar-cane growers. Although I do not come from that area, Kenya as a country needs to support agriculture. We pride ourselves in agriculture because it is the main economy builder of this country but it seems that we are not serious because we do not support the industry. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, everybody or most Kenyans consume sugar. I do not think there is anybody who does not take sugar except me. However, at the same time, like somebody said, there is ready ... view
  • 11 Oct 2017 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Chairman. We all know election officials are people who have gone to school. So, anybody who does not do what they are supposed to do, we know they will be doing so on purpose to mess an election. I have been a victim of an electoral officer who messed my election. I, therefore, support the amendment that anybody who plays around with the voter must face the consequences. view
