Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wish to give Notice of the following Motion:- THAT, aware that in the recruiting of officers into the disciplined forces, the following heights requirements apply:- Armed forces - 5 feet 3 inches for both men and women, regular police - 5 feet 9 inches for policemen and 5 feet 3 inches for policewomen and in the Administration Police, 5 feet 8 inches for men and 5 feet and 3 inches for women; and concerned that this requirement is discriminative and is not within any legal framework; this House urges the Government

On a point of order, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir. One of the hon. Members, hon. Linturi, informed this House that when they took up a portion or a section of that area under the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF), they completed the process and now, they are finalizing that process. Is it in order for the Minister to continue allowing that process to drag on, if we have solutions that can be given by hon. Members? Why would the Minister not allow that process to be taken over by the CDF? For that to happen, also allow a Committee of Parliament ...

Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker. One of the things we should remember is that 10 million acres of land in this country was under the colonialists. Out of this land, only one million acres of land was taken from the colonialists. Half of the one million acres was allocated to the big fish. There are squatters in my constituency. The Ol Kalou Scheme falls within my constituency. I organise harambees to pay part of the settlement loan, which is now accruing interest. Those who do not belong there paid the loans quickly and sold off the pieces of land. ...

On 23rd July, 2008, Parliament set up a Select Committee to look into the activities of unlawful groups and organizations in this country. The Committee has executed part of its mandate. The Committee set out to check on the membership, organization structures, why these groups are growing, establish whether there is involvement of politicians, and what impact these groups have had.
