  • 28 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Indeed, we discussed this in our Committee meeting and we mandated the Chairman to ask for this extension. We feel that the issues we discussed are very pertinent and grave. We do not have sufficient time. So, I rise to support my Chairman. view
  • 28 Mar 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. Indeed, I appreciate your wise counsel and guidance of the House on this matter. I have also listened to Hon. Mbadi. I subscribe to the view of Hon. Mbadi. I hold the view that neither Justice Warsame nor any nominee to the JSC by the Kenya Magistrates’ and Judges’ Association or the LSK should be vetted by Parliament. However, I wish to support my Chairman’s Motion for extension of time because it will give the House and the Committee time to look at this matter in detail. We will also look at comparative analysis from other ... view

  • 21 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. While I support the request by the Minority Party Whip, Hon. Junet, I want to make certain confessions here. Having been a commissioner myself, I have kept a studious silence over this debate because I have noticed that when Members use terms and language like, “dogs” and insults and abuses, it only reaffirms what I have said in this House severally that our weakness as a House is the lack of our ability to resolve minor conflicts. Instead of resolving them, we make them worse. If I was Hon. Momanyi, I would be really afraid to ... view
  • 15 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: On a point of order, Hon. Speaker. What is happening here this afternoon is fraud on Members and Kenyans. A few minutes ago, the Leader of the Majority Party said that our in-trays are full, which is true. However, I disagree with Hon. Mbadi, the Leader of the Minority Party, when he says that the Chairpersons of Committees are not working. It is the Jubilee Chairpersons of Committees who are not working and that is the truth! This is a demonstration of lack of seriousness on the part of those who have been fighting to be chairpersons of committees. They ... view

  • 13 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, it pains me that this serious issue is now being trivialised as a NASA and Jubilee issue yet it touches on the security and privileges of all Members. Today, it is this side complaining; tomorrow it could be that side. I pray that we approach it as Members of this House who have a common destiny. view
  • 13 Feb 2018 in National Assembly: Leaving that aside, the House needs to know that my friend, Hon. Githu Muigai has just resigned and His Excellency the President has accepted his resignation. The president of the Court of Appeal, Justice Kihara, has been appointed as the new Attorney-General of the Republic. view
