  • 19 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Let us fight this menace with all our effort, without discrimination, intimidation and without mentioning names of people. Let us fight this menace as one body and unit. The crisis in this industry is alarming. Some people have stopped taking tea with sugar. The Cabinet Secretary for Interior and Coordination of National Government should come out with clarification if it is true that some of the sugar has mercury. It has actually spoilt the market of this product called sugar. Some of this sugar has mercury and has spoilt the sugar market. Let us ... view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. I am so surprised that the Chairman of the BAC has removed money from the feeding programme, which is an enticing issue in pastoralist areas. In most of our schools, students are being encouraged to go to school because of food. Removing money from the feeding programme to another programme will reduce the number of students going to school at an early age. Please, Hon. Chairman, return that money back to the feeding programme. view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. First of all, on the issue of power generation, we would like the Committee to take into consideration that every divisional headquarters must have a sub-division plant so that we can have development in every area. Secondly, in Turkana we have the sun as an alternative energy source. We want the Committee to see how we can tap that energy instead of generators that cost us a lot of money in Turkana. That is a challenge I want the Chairman to consider. Thank you. view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman. On the issue of distribution of gas cylinders, we want the Government to reduce the prices of cylinders and take them to all parts of the country. Gas cylinders are currently only distributed within Nairobi, Nakuru and Eldoret. We need the cylinders in Turkana, West Pokot and other pastoralist areas to help our people reduce the use of fuel wood and charcoal. Thank you. view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, I just want to bring to the attention of the Departmental Committee on Justice and Legal Affairs that the High Court in Turkana has not been completed for six years now. So, we are requesting for dispensation of justice for the Turkana people. That High Court must be completed within the Budget that we have proposed today. Thank you. view
  • 13 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairman, we want to appreciate the work done by the NIS. Since the new Director-General took over, most of the cases that we used to hear of have now reduced. So, we want to encourage such agencies to do a good job. I support. view
  • 7 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I wanted to comment on the Petroleum (Exploration, Development and Production) Bill. I wanted to confirm if what was said has been published as voted in the Committee of the whole House. But now it has been overtaken by events. view
  • 6 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to the Budget Estimates. First of all, I want to thank the Committee for the participatory approach they took so that the public can give their view of the budget although they have not taken all of them into consideration. It is a good step and it shows that this country must participate. This Budget has taken into consideration the Big Four Agenda of the President of this country. We want the Big Four Agenda to be taken to the grassroots level so that development across this ... view

  • 6 Jun 2018 in National Assembly: The State Department of Interior and National Coordination has been given a good amount of money and we want this Ministry to address the issue of insecurity in this country. We cannot implement the Big Four Agenda of the President if at all we are not going to have security in this country. We have allocated a good amount of money to the Ministry of Interior and coordination of National Government to ensure that the security of this country is stable so that investors can come. We also want this Ministry to employ more Kenya Police Reservists (KPR) so that ... view
