  • 17 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I am ready to be named because it is in black and white. It is in writing that we divided the Committee into five sub- committees because of the bulk of work and Hon. Didmus Barasa is in the same sub-committee with Hon. Kaluma. It is true and I am ready to be named. I am not lying. I am speaking as the Vice-Chair of the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. view
  • 17 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I stand guided. I will make sure that I provide the document, whether today or tomorrow, that shows that Hon. Didmus Barasa is the Vice-Chair of the sub-committee. I can submit it even today. view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Hon. Barasa’s Question is a concern to us a Committee and it is a national issue. The Question that he raised is pertinent. I promised that in two weeks’ time, we will respond to him, but this week, we have been very busy. As you know, visitors from almost 70 countries visited our Committee. We finished the conference yesterday and Hon. Barasa is one of us in the Departmental Committee on Administration and National Security. He was also there in the meeting when the Cabinet Secretary, Mr. Matiang’i closed the meeting at about 5.00 ... view

  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker. The matter that the Member has raised is weighty and of national concern. Due to the amount of work that we have been having like what you witnessed yesterday, we have not managed to answer his Question. So, I am asking the Member to give us three weeks and then we will give an answer. Thank you. view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. The Member is a bit confused because he is saying that the Cabinet Secretary replied to the Question that he asked, but he gave a shoddy answer. The CS cannot give the Member a shoddy answer. As far as I know, there are no elections of an assistant chief. The Member had not planned properly to ask this Question. That is why it delayed. The chief cannot be interdicted without making a mistake. To put the record clear, we will answer his Questions. Because the CS appeared before the Committee and answered the Question, although ... view
  • 9 Oct 2019 in National Assembly: Hon. Speaker, the Questions are too many. Even if he appears before the Committee on Friday, he will not answer all the Questions. For example, today during the morning sitting, we got eight Questions. He is not a machine. He will answer a few Questions. If he is able to answer all of them, then he will do it. His Question will be one of those that the Cabinet Secretary will answer. Thank you. view
