  • 10 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have received a list of the motorbikes and vehicles that have been issued as per the Question. However, looking at this list, I am rather 470 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES April 10, 2007 disappointed because, Bahari Constituency has only been supplied with only one vehicle and three motorbikes but an area like Mwingi North has been provided with two vehicles and ten motorbikes. I do not think that this is fair. Could the Assistant Minister tell the House why there is this disparity in terms of distribution of these resources? view
  • 10 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, the Assistant Minister has said that they have bought additional vehicles. Could he assure this House that he will ensure that those areas that have not been provided with any vehicles will be provided with them? view
  • 5 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as much as the Assistant Minister is trying to paint a rosy picture of the living conditions of the police, I think he needs to be told that most policemen are actually living in miserable conditions. Even the allowances that he is talking about do not compensate for that misery. Could he tell this House what the Government will do to offer permanent and comfortable accommodation to our police officers? view
  • 5 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, recently, the Presidential plane developed some fault somewhere and the President had, actually, to disembark from that aircraft so that it could be repaired. Could the Minister assure this House that the Presidential jet is in good condition and that no such incidents will recur? view
  • 3 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Education:- (a) whether he could inform the House when Kibarani School for the Deaf in Bahari Constituency will be furnished with special teaching and learning equipment; and, (b) if he could state what plans he has to fully rehabilitate the school which has a serious shortage of classrooms and boarding facilities. view
  • 3 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, yes, we are aware of both allocations and we wish to thank the Government for that. However, the amount of Kshs150,000 for the purchase of specialised learning material is grossly inadequate. Could the Assistant Minister assure us that this financial year, he will provide additional funds to the school, which covers the entire North Coast? view
  • 3 Apr 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, the constituents of Bahari have taken up the challenge of this school. Our plans are to build a secondary school which will serve the entire Coast Province. Could the Assistant Minister assure us that when the school is established, the Government will support us in terms of teaching staff as well as teaching material for the school? view
  • 29 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I beg to give notices of the following Motions:- SELECT COMMITTEE ON COLLAPSE OF KILIFI CASHEWNUT FACTORY THAT, due to the mysterious circumstances under which the Kenya Cashewnut Factory in Kilifi was closed down in 1998, and noting that its machinery and equipment were sold off without regard to value for money; this House resolves to establish a Select Committee to investigate the circumstances that led to the collapse of the factory and to determine whether those who might have been involved could be apprehended, prosecuted and any property illegally acquired from the company recovered and that ... view
  • 29 Mar 2007 in National Assembly: Bw.
