It is trying to address mineral resources but why not petroleum and gases? Why were they omitted? Do we have some people having some schemes to avoid this for them to benefit or it is for the benefit of this country? I would have actually wished that petroleum and gas are also included among the mineral resources because I know that a lot of petroleum deposits have been found in Turkana. This has happened in my constituency because we have gold and iron ore deposits and the people try to mine them illegally which, to some extent, is dangerous to their lives. I would actually wish that this Bill will actually address all those and we will live in harmony together with the prospecting companies, mining companies and the communities get their right share. view
