  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I wanted to raise an issue that I have not received a written answer from the Minister. However, I want to thank the Minister for the answer he has given. The answer is not well researched. The journalists were actually attacked in Oyugis on 28th May. They were about five people. These journalists were attacked while they were on their mission investigating a defilement case which took place on 1st and 2nd of March, 2012. The girl by the name Elizabeth Akinyi who was 17 years was defiled but escaped on 22nd of March, after receiving some ... view

  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Minister for the answer he has given. However, he has indicated that the person who had this girl is the same person who might have defiled her, and that he may be trying to deny the fact. The same person has even rendered a family homeless, just next to his home, and he is about to harvest view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Bill. I must congratulate the Mover for a well thought Bill. If you look at the history of this country, a number of people have left others for death by stealing from innocent people. I would propose that stiffer penalties are meted against these people. I beg to support. view
  • 27 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, allow me to thank the Minister for his answer. However, in 1968 the Kenya Government gave out relief food to some countries. In the 1970s Kenya was in a position to give loans to some countries. We were also promised in the 1970s and 1990s that by the year 2000 we should get clean water and proper services. What major projects is the Ministry undertaking in Homa Bay County using these loans? view
  • 27 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I thought that I was actually a bit clear. What major projects have been undertaken using these loans in Homa Bay County? For example, we were promised a clean water system by 2000. view
  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: asked the Minister for Forestry and Wildlife:- (a) what measures the Ministry is taking to ensure that enough funds are availed for more trees to be planted in the depleted Nyasore, Kodera and God Wire forests in Kasipul Kabondo Constituency; (b) whether he is aware that there are only two forest guards in God Wire forest and, if so, what plans the Ministry has to increase the view
  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I want to thank the Assistant Minister for attempting to answer this Question. These forests were planted in the 1960s and 1970s. I recall that the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya came and launched the restoration of Kodera Forest where we planted over 70,000 trees. Through the support of the Constituencies Development Fund (CDF) we did what we could to plant all these trees. We sourced some even from Lake Victoria Water Services and other donors, including BAT. Up to now, I want to say that all those trees which we planted are now ... view
  • 20 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, could the Ministry undertake to provide some funds to enable the people to weed the already planted seedlings and also for the bushes to be cleared to enable them to grow? Otherwise, the entire forest will actually be destroyed before the community forest association becomes functional. view
  • 13 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, I rise to second the Motion. Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, these candidates appeared before the Committee. They are highly qualified and very experienced Kenyans. The principle of gender balance was observed. The composition of the candidates is very good for the Transition Authority. The principle of regional balance was also observed. With those remarks, I beg to second. view
