This Report has highlighted or brought out some of the things that have not been considered before, which is an improvement of what has been there. We want the miraa -growing areas to be given special consideration. The British Government, through their development agencies, should put special programmes in those areas so that the farmers who have lost their livelihoods because of that decision can be cushioned. Last year, I brought a petition to this House regarding the question of taxation on products made from sorghum, millet and cassava. By doing this, we are going to kill the livelihoods of many farmers who have contracts with beer-brewing companies. When farmers grow these commodities, we are also supporting the work being carried out by our research institution like the Kenya Agricultural Research Institute (KARI).
