  • 24 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, with regard to the issue of hay which the Ministry has allocated money so that livestock farmers can be given, we want this money to be disbursed at the district level. It is very important. view

  • 19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, thank you very much for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. At the outset, I would like to commend the Chairman and his team for a commendable job. There are four things which are very dear to my heart. First are the issues of impunity, corruption, ethnicity and poor leadership. This country needs credible people; people of honesty, integrity and people with moral courage to stand and defend this nation. I do not care which region these people come from, so long as they can stand up and defend this country. ... view
  • 19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: This afternoon, our Committee was put on the spot just because people are talking of regional representation. We want to talk about Kenya, and we want the Government to deal with corruption. We want the Government to have moral courage, which is stronger than physical courage to confront this monster, or dragon, called "corruption". Because there is this advisory team to the Kenya Anti-Corruption Commission (KACC), we want to start seeing big fish being fried and roasted whenever corruption cases are brought to the Government. view
  • 19 Feb 2009 in National Assembly: I would like to say one more thing in support of this Motion, that corruption is everywhere. If Fe bruary 19, 2009 PARLIAMENTAR Y DEBATES view
  • 17 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me the opportunity to support this very important Motion. First of all, I would like to send a very peaceful Merry Christmas message to Kajiado Central constituents and to Members of Parliament of this House. This is a very important recess for us Members of Parliament. We have several issues which need to be addressed during the recess. The Government also has a lot to do during this recess. Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Members of Parliament are law makers, implementors of the laws they make as well as the people's representatives. Therefore, ... view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir. I was just trying to attract the attention of the hon. Member to tone down, instead of making a lot of noise. This is a very important Motion and we want to capture bandits. view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this very important Motion. I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Mover of this Motion. Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, it is long overdue to suppress, remove or completely wipe out cattle rustling in our country. In the 21st Century, we are still having communities moving around causing insecurity, stealing property and destroying the livelihoods of other people. Cattle rustling is a disease. It is actually a cancer for this nation. It marginalises the pastoralist communities, especially the communities of Pokot, Marakwet, ... view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I said that the Kisiis who did not have cattle before have the opportunity of stealing cattle from the Maasai. So, we should stop this. Instead of the Maasai going to recover their animals, they attack the Kurias. The Kurias then go and attack the Mutende who are part of the Kuria on the Tanzania side. We also have a problem with the Karamojong on the Ugandan side. On the other side of Southern Sudan, we have the Toposas who are harassing the Turkanas. So, the Government needs to put in place security measures to ... view
  • 10 Dec 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, as you can see, some of these Members of Parliament are from cattle rustling prone areas. They are just giving me--- view
