  • 9 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: (i)THAt, aware that the Bomas-Ongata Rongai- Kiserian Road is a critical link between the three centres of Kajiado region as a whole; (ii) THAT, the road is a single lane inhibiting free movement of people, goods and services from a densely populated area; (iii) THAT, the continued heavy traffic jam on peak hours has contributed to immense loss of man-hours; (iv) THAT, potential residents and investors of Ongata Rongai and Kiserian areas due to the heavy traffic jam have relocated to other areas denying the two areas development; (v) THAT, the single lane road has seen the cost of transport ... view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker, for giving me this chance to contribute to this very important Motion. Ranking was abolished by the Cabinet Secretary and he said that it contributed to cheating. He also said that schools do not have equal facilities in the country and some students are drilled towards examination and that reduces the ability of a student to manipulate life. However, in my opinion, these are not the reasons why he should have not allowed ranking to continue. If the argument is lack of facilities, then the Government should concentrate on that and ensure that all schools ... view
  • 8 Jun 2016 in National Assembly: Government schools. That is why he said there should be no ranking. This is to get many students going to school. Lastly, if ranking is abolished, there would be an official ranking that will emerge in the country. In places like the USA where ranking is not official, you get an official ranking from publications. Somebody will come up with a magazine somewhere and start ranking the schools in this country. If we remove this official ranking in our country, then ranking will take unofficial means and it will not be accurate. I support. view
  • 4 May 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me the chance to contribute to this very important piece of legislation. If we want to create employment in this country, this is the way to go. We have to impose levies and fees to bodies that export unprocessed materials. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I will address two issues. The first one is on scrap metals. In this country, scrap metals are collected and exported to countries like China, where they are processed into steel. The steel is then exported to our country at a very expensive price. If we want to ... view
  • 4 May 2016 in National Assembly: when they are being grazed to have good skins that do not have tick marks, they are frayed properly to get good quality hides and skins. With those remarks, I support this Bill but I will bring some amendments to make sure that we cushion our tanneries from closing down. view
  • 26 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Chairlady. I want to also support the amendment. Due to increased ICT penetration currently, we have seen some organisations engaging in clandestine activities which jeopardise our national security. So, I support the Chair. view
  • 26 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: I also want to support this amendment. It will be awkward to register an organisation that has foreign interests. I support this amendment for security purposes. view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker, for giving me a chance to add my voice to this debate and support Hon. Jakoyo for coming up with the proposal. Let us give them time to go through the Supplementary Budget to check whether there are other issues that we can change. I thought the words “Supplementary Budget” mean a budget that will enable the Government to complete what it had not done throughout the year. Introducing some aspect in between, like allocations to the Senate is deviating from the real essence of a Supplementary Budget. The kitty that is being introduced into the ... view
  • 20 Apr 2016 in National Assembly: Secretariat. This is money which cannot be accounted for and has not been approved by the Members of the County Assembly (MCAs). I think it is better you give us a chance to scrutinise the Budget so that we do it the right way. I would like to see future Supplementary Budgets showing details of expenditure instead of block expenditure the way it has been. I support the adjournment. view
