  • 1 Aug 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me the opportunity to support this important Bill. I will use two minutes so that I can give my colleagues a chance. Data is very important, as my colleagues have said, for the Government to plan resource allocation. As you know, in the upcoming census there have been a lot of complaints from the people of Kaiti concerning the hiring of enumerators. It is very funny to see people who are earning salaries being given the opportunities and yet we have youths who are graduates from universities lying idle. This is something ... view
  • 20 Jun 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Speaker for giving me this opportunity. I beg to ask the Cabinet Secretary for Transport, Infrastructure, Housing, Urban Development and Public Works. (i) whether he is aware that the contractor awarded the works for the construction of Katuaa- Kee-Nunguni Road has not completed the work since 2015 despite expiry of the 24 months’ contract; (ii) whether he could explain why the same company was awarded another contract for the construction of the Tawa-Ngoluni-Itangini Road in the same county and constituency, before completing the aforementioned Road that has since stalled? (iii) what measures the Ministry is putting in ... view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to add my voice to the debate on the President's State of the Nation Address. I rise here to support the Address. The President spoke strongly against corruption. Everybody in the country now knows that corruption is real. We have had enough and the President spoke strongly against it. But we want to see action and not mentioning people. We are heading in a very dangerous direction on corruption. We cannot afford to lose our resources through corruption. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: The President also talked about electricity. In the rural areas like Kaiti Constituency, little has been done about electricity especially on the Last Mile Connectivity. I was there yesterday and I was not pleased with the way they are doing it. I know if you are doing maximisation, those who are within 600-metre radius of a transformer should be connected with electricity. I was not happy to see some people get electricity while others are left out. These are people we represent and they cry to us. I want the Cabinet Secretary for Energy to do something about that. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: The President also mentioned infrastructure. We know the 100 per cent transition from primary to secondary school is a good Government idea. As Members of Parliament, we have the mandate to deal with education and security when it comes to the NG-CDF. What we have is The electronic version of the Official Hansard Report is for information purposes only. Acertified version of this Report can be obtained from the Hansard Editor. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: not enough. I urge all Members to support me in increasing the NG-CDF. If we increased it, we will be in a position to do equal distribution to all the schools and improve their infrastructure. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Affordable housing is one of the Big Four Agenda, but this time we have to be sensitive to Kenyans. We cannot say that we are constructing cheaper houses when we are making life very difficult for Kenyans. We have to be sensitive and know that Kenyans are struggling with the current economy. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: The President also mentioned security. We are having a challenge in security especially in my constituency. I built a very good police station. I spent over Kshs18 million to construct a police station in Ilima Ward. After doing all that, it was gazette, but up to date, we have no personnel. For the last six months, ten people have been killed due to insecurity in that area. These are some of the issues I expect the Government to take action on. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: Agriculture is the mainstay in our country. My input or advice is that if the Government can agree and make sure that every constituency has one big dam for irrigation, it will assist on food security. This is very important. If we go in that direction, we will be in a position to solve the problem of food insecurity. view
  • 25 Apr 2019 in National Assembly: On drought, I was expecting that before schools re-open, every school in the ASAL areas would get food. view
