Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I rise to ask Question No. 155/2019 to the CS for Interior and Coordination of National Government: (i) Is the Cabinet Secretary aware that there is only one civil registration centre in Makueni County located at Wote Town and that the centre is served by only two registration officers? (ii) Could the Ministry consider ensuring that each sub-county in Kenya has a civil registration centre with adequate staff?

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this important Motion about our village elders. First, I thank the Member who came up with the Motion because it is long overdue. Village elders do a lot of work and give services to us and community in development. Our county commissioners and deputy county commissioners, chiefs and sub-chiefs use village elders to get information about mwananchi . In my Kaiti Constituency, three months ago, a village elder was beaten brutally by people as he tried to fight against illicit brew. Up to date, the village ...

. During bursary disbursement, I use village elders because they can reach everybody in the constituency and have the required information. After they work, we have to understand that village elders have families and need to eat. They also have children in schools, universities and colleges. They need to be paid so that they can meet their bills. I urge the Government to consider paying them as it is long overdue and to be motivated for the work they do. These people work 24 hours. In case of any dispute, they are woken up at night because they live in ...

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute on this important Motion. The PWDs are important people in the society. Two weeks ago, I was in my constituency and had a meeting with PWDs and some of the challenges they were sharing are about transport. I was not happy to hear concerns about transport. Some of them have a very big challenge alighting from matatus. This is something that we should take action on. In my constituency, there is no school with infrastructure for persons with special needs. So, as a Government, we need to ...

Thank you Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this important Motion. This is a very important Motion that has come at the right time. I support this Report from EALA because I know it is very important as it will improve the economies of our countries. The times we are living in are full of insecurity. It is important for us to support this Motion. If we support the unity of East African countries, it will boost security in our country. Socially, it is important when we come together as East African counties because ...

We have to look at the fundamental issues in the two Bills and make necessary adjustments, especially where the East African countries are concerned. I support the Motion.

Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to contribute to this important Bill. Those who came up with the idea of county governments had a very good plan and intention. Right now, we can stand here and say that county governments are doing a good job although there is still a lot to be done. For example, in Kaiti Constituency, a lot has been done by the county government. For example, in the health sector, health centres have been built. The community is happy because there are health centres in all parts of the constituency. There ...
