  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. We have discussed a number of issues that have been raised by the Hon. Members, but I want to say this: There must be an underlying issue that caused the strike today at the airport. That issue is known by this august House. The reason why this House is here is to legislate on a number of issues, and not to go to bed with the Executive. Today, I want to confirm that there are some Members of this House who are trying to defend the Executive instead of assisting the public on their ... view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: This is because there was a directive that was given by the Government that has made the strike to happen today at the airport. We cannot come here to cheat ourselves. I belong to the Government but either way, I will take my position when it is wrong or right. I want to say that it is wrong. It is the Government which is causing this mess. Let them stop what they are doing and look at the issues critically, with a view to solving the problem. The Government should stop fighting the workers using the police and other security ... view
  • 6 Mar 2019 in National Assembly: This House must stand on its feet and do the right thing. It is shocking that I am Member of this House and I know the right thing that is causing the strike, but we cover it up at the expense of some few individuals. It is true corruption is the major thing that is causing those strikes. The idea of handing over KAA and its staff to the failed parastatal must be stopped. The Government should sit down, resolve the issue amicably and tell Kenyans what is causing that strike. We do not want that mess. view

  • 26 Feb 2019 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. I support the Report that has been laid before the House, which touch more on constituencies in Kisumu County. Being a County Member, I am a witness of a number of functions that the NG-CDF has had in the grassroots. I congratulate the Members for the way they have handled the NG-CDF all the way from the grassroots. Despite the many challenges they are facing, be it the issue of committees being underfunded, having to go into their pockets to enable committees to move around, the Members are doing a commendable job. On behalf ... view

  • 28 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Let me congratulate the Committee for the Report which is on the Floor of the House. This is a very crucial Committee because it deals with public investments in this country. The Report they have tabled is of great importance not only to Parliament, but to Kenyans at large. Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker, I beg to support. view
  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker for giving me this chance. Before I talk on the Bill, I must give special thanks to His Excellency the President, the Deputy President, the Right Honourable Raila Odinga, Kalonzo Musyoka and the entire leadership of this House and also the ministry for this wonderful Bill that is on the Floor of this House today. I also congratulate the Hon. Members of this House, especially the male Hon. Members, for supporting the gender Bill. I also congratulate the women Hon. Members in this House. I echo the sentiments that have been made ... view
  • 21 Nov 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. The quote says: “The woman was made of a rib out of the side of Adam; not made out of his head to rule over him, nor out of his feet to be trampled upon by him, but out of his side to be equal with him, under his arm to be protected, and near his heart to be beloved...” We are not requesting for this gender Bill to overpower our men but to be equal in terms of representation. view
  • 11 Oct 2018 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Hon. Temporary Deputy Speaker. Let me also take this opportunity to congratulate Hon. Florence Mutua for bringing this Motion. I want to take this opportunity, on behalf of the people of Bomet County, to condole with the families. Indeed, it is a sad moment for this country. It is a big loss. I want to stand with the Members who have raised issues with the relevant ministries and sectors that are supposed to have taken lead in terms of responding to this fatal accident. It is true the statistics we are being given by NTSA indicate ... view
