  • 30 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I am just wondering whether it is in order for Dr. Khalwale, given the seriousness of this matter, because it is something that has happened in the past, these references to people’s domestic issues, mentioning families, spouses and their children on a national matter is a little indiscipline--- Is he in order to bring family issues as a justification for his argument? view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I rise to support the Bill. Most of the people, and this has been said repeatedly, have been impoverished because of schemes designed not just by the ordinary people seeking to set up small businesses, but with the involvement of offices and individuals with influence. This influence has, obviously, curtailed investigations and punishment based on evidence that has been given. There can never be any better evidence of wrongdoing in this case than the fact that they are living Kenyans or even deceased Kenyans with witnesses as family members and agents who were involved in ... view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, I conclude by saying that we have called in the past for the gazettements of over the counter trading that will allow the people who have family businesses to invest in their local areas, the equivalent of the NASDAC. I strongly support this Bill. view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. First, I want to pass my condolences to all the affected families and wish them the strength and God’s guidance. view
  • 29 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Peace is very expensive. We need to invest very expensively in peace. Countries that have been cited as having been at the same level with us at Independence like South Korea have invested in Closed-Circuit Televisions (CCTVs) in all their cities, towns and even in villages. Here we are getting concerned about getting access to our cellular phones data or our profiles. Calls have been made about the social media. That is a point that I had planned to speak about very powerfully, because when you screen social media everywhere you will find a lot of bellicose statements. view
  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, I have just consulted the hon. Member having looked at some of the details in the answers that I have. I request for extra time so that some of the information I have can be corrected so that I can give the House the correct answer. view
  • 22 Aug 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, Wednesday is okay. view
  • 27 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I rise to support this Motion. Indeed, as a House, we should be really proud of the much ground that we have covered and the amount of work that has been done; even for efforts to legislate for the implementation of the Constitution. If there are any instances – and, indeed, there are instances - where the House has faltered, it is important for us individually to embrace the collective responsibility in the House--- view
  • 27 Jun 2012 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, in conclusion, I want to say that it is important. Kenyans have been following the work that Parliamentary Committees, departmental Committees, watchdog committees have been doing. They have also followed debates that have been pursued on the Floor of the House. view
