Okay. Hon. Hon. Deputy Speaker, I want to say that there must be a reason this contract was not paid. I request the Departmental Committee on Health to really look into these details: how is the contractual arrangement? How was the procurement done? There must be a reason the ministry officials did not pay. There are so many other contracts, especially on the lease equipment, which were clandestinely awarded to some people and the National Treasury is still really suffering and struggling to pay those tenders. So, the Committee should do their work thoroughly. They should also summon the Attorney- ...

Thank you, Hon. Speaker. I want to commend my colleague and friend Hon. (Dr.) Pukose for this important Bill. In Meru County where I come from, there are many cancer cases. Research has not been done to know the cause of the disease. If you check in all referral hospitals, those cases come from my county. This Bill on food safety is what will tell us what happens, especially with regard to the use of pesticides. There are so many pesticides which are very dangerous and they are still being used. So, I really support Dr. Pukose on this. I ...

Thank you, Hon. Deputy Speaker. I want to advise Hon. Kaluma that I am a Meru man who is never intimidated anywhere. I have no two businesses in this House. I am here to represent the good people of South Imenti Constituency. Whether he wants to move forward, it is none of my business. I must be heard on this Floor.

My point of order is that I did agree with the proposal of seven minutes and that one of extending the House up to 2.00 p.m., but even if you do simple mathematics, seven minutes times 63 Members is already 7.3 hours. So, what I am requesting the Honourable Leader of the Majority Party is... There is a message that has circulated that we might vote this afternoon. That is why I am really requesting the leadership of the House to consider extending that time until all of us speak to this historic Bill.

The Member in front of me, the Member for Nakuru Town East, who is a bit noisy, is not observing the COVID-19 protocols. I am scared. I really want to take this opportunity to condole with our departed colleague. Hon. Koinange as all of us know was a servant leader who worked for the people of Kiambaa and people of this country with a lot of zeal. When the sad news came on the screen, we were scared that death can befall a good leader like Hon. Koinange and as Hon. Washiali has put it, and leave those who harass ...

Pursuant to the provisions of Standing Order No.44(2)(c), I seek to request a Statement from the Chairperson of the Departmental Committee on Transport, Public Works and Housing regarding facilitation of university and college students during partial cessation of movement in the country and increased fare by the transport subsector.
