Mr. Temporary Speaker, Sir, Fistula has become an issue and now we have hospitals offering surgeries. This will be an opportunity to enlighten the women in Turkana. In mentoring the girls, they will get to understand their issues and support them in different areas. A county like Turkana requires a lot of support, especially mentally. I rise, pursuant to Standing Order No. 53 (1), to seek a Statement from the Standing Committee on Justice, Legal Affairs and Human Rights regarding early release of inmates convicted of minor offenses. In the Statement, the Committee should - (1) Indicate the capacity of Kenya’s prisons vis-a-vis the number of persons currently incarcerated. (2) Clarify whether the treatment and living conditions of vulnerable persons in prisons, that is women and children, conforms to international standards and human rights guidelines, and whether they have access to education, health services, and other basic human rights. ... view

It is sad for a one- year-old baby’s finger to be cut because of medical negligence. The baby had pneumonia, but his finger ended up being cut. view
