  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: (Sen. (Prof) Kindiki): Thank you, Mr. Temporary Speaker Sir. I would like from the outset to thank the Senator for West Pokot County, Sen. (Prof) John Lonyangapuo for bringing this Bill. This Bill is timely in as far as it tries to handle or strengthen the security situation in our country which is a matter of big concern. It is only fair to say that Kenyans are concerned. Kenyans in urban centres, in agricultural areas, pastoral areas and in all walks of life are concerned that the security situation is not as good as it is supposed to be. As ... view

One, that going forward, we want the Inspector-General of police to stop sending young, inexperienced boys and girls to hardship areas. That is why ... view
  • 20 Nov 2014 in Senate: Order, hon. Senators! There was an earlier request by Sen. Murungi. However, there was a decision made by the Speaker that we have designated time and day for voting for all the Bills. Therefore, the Question for this Bill will be put next week on Wednesday as it had been ruled by the Speaker before. view
  • 19 Nov 2014 in Senate: (Sen. (Prof.) Kindiki): Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, as I stand here, I am yet to come to terms with the reality that our friend and colleague, Sen. Gerald Otieno Kajwang, is no longer with us. Yesterday, a few minutes to 4.00 p.m., I walked to the Chamber. I had consultations with the Clerk and I discovered that the Statute Law (Miscellaneous Amendments) Bill was one of the Bills that had been placed for possible debate yesterday. I was to move that Bill. Before that Bill was the National Police Service (Amendment) Bill, 2014. The Clerk told me: “We do not ... view
