There was a time we had very powerful Ministers like James Orengo who sat in Parliament and were accountable to the people because they used to be asked questions. I long for that time. I hoped that when I became a Senator or leader in this country, Cabinet Secretaries would be here to account to the people. view

When a Cabinet Secretary is invited to Parliament, they are not only accounting to the MPs here but also to the public. Cabinet Secretaries have made it so difficult not only for the public but also MPs to access their offices. In fact, they run those offices as if they are small kingdoms. view

I want to remind them that we have seen very powerful people coming down. When you are up there, you have to be very careful not to allow pride to bring you down. view

Why do we have this problem in the first place? We are in this problem because of greed. That is issue number one. This Government now subscribes to the open tender system when it comes to the importation of petroleum products into this country. This is why we need to investigate because the big players like Total Petroleum and Shell have not imported any petroleum view
