  • 16 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, I do not have an answer this morning because, as I said, and I want to repeat, this Question came to our attention this morning. I want to plead that we are going to give an appropriate answer on Thursday next week. view
  • 16 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you very much, Mr. Temporary Deputy Speaker, Sir, for this opportunity to make my contribution towards this Motion. I want to congratulate the Minister for Moving this Motion on Vote 57 - Ministry of Nairobi Metropolitan Development. When I listened to the Minister move the Motion, it is like he was giving a picture of how we can solve the already obvious problems in Nairobi, particularly in areas like the traffic jams that we continually experience. An hon. Member said that you fly from Mombasa to Nairobi for about 45 minutes, which is a distance of about 500 kilometres. ... view
  • 16 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Thank you, Madam Temporary Deputy Speaker, for giving me this opportunity to make my contribution towards this very important Motion. Right from the outset, I would like to state that the importance of forest cover in the country cannot be gainsaid. • 8 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Speaker, Sir, after the December last year's General Election, we are all aware that our country was faced with a serious political crisis. Innocent Kenyans lost their lives and property worth billions of shillings was destroyed and several Kenyans were displaced and became refugees in their country. Educational institutions were also deserted. view
  • 8 Jul 2008 in National Assembly: After the National Accord was reached, the National Dialogue and Reconciliation Committee was formed to address the political crisis. The National Dialogue and Reconciliation Committee came up with a number of proposals on how to deal with this crisis in our country so that we do not in future find ourselves in a similar situation. So, lasting peace and co-existence between Kenyan people became a very serious item in the Committee. To cultivate goodwill among Kenyans and even for all Kenyans to access equal opportunities, the National Dialogue and Reconciliation Committee--- view
  • 14 May 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, before I respond, may I request that I donate five minutes of my time to Ms. Odhiambo. view
  • 14 May 2008 in National Assembly: Mr. Deputy Speaker, Sir, first and foremost, I would like to thank the Mover for bringing this very important Motion to this House. The Mover and the Seconder of the Motion May 14, 2008 PARLIAMENTARY DEBATES 1019 gave very clear reasons to justify its passing. They wanted a lean and clean Government. I do not wish to dwell on the definition of what word "lean" and "clean" mean, because the ... view
